GRAPE SEED POWDER (VITIS VINIFERA SEMEN POWDER)
Grape seed (Vitis vinifera semen) powder is well known for its rich content of polyphenols, especially proanthocyanidins and oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC). It contains a unique combination of beneficial ingredients such as vitamin E, tannins, flavonoids, linoleic acid, resveratrol etc. The biological activity of these phytochemicals is mostly associated with their function as antioxidants.
Grape seed is a powerful antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals generated during intense physical activity and activates rejuvenating processes in the body.
Furthermore, grape seed is fat-soluble, meaning it can penetrate all types of cell membranes, providing powerful antioxidant protection. One of the few antioxidants that can cross the blood-brain barrier while helping to protect brain cells from free radicals.
Grape seed has anti-inflammatory properties. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of grape seed contribute to protecting muscles from oxidative damage and inflammation, support a quicker recovery after intense physical activity and promote overall muscle health.
Oligomeric proanthocyanidin complexes (OPC) in grape seed help the body produce glutathione, a master antioxidant that protects DNA and strengthens the immune system. Also, OPC increase intracellular levels of vitamin C and strengthen capillaries and thus improve the circulation of blood and oxygen throughout the body.
The polyphenols in grape seed promote blood vessel health, and improve circulation. Grape seed also enhances nitric oxide production. Nitric oxide is a vasodilator that helps relax blood vessels, leading to improved blood flow and enhance oxygen and nutrient delivery to working muscles during exercise. In addition, grape polyphenols help remove ammonia from the blood.
The high content of flavonoids in grape seed improves collagen synthesis and supports bone density by increasing their mineralization, thus potentially reduces the risk of injuries
Some studies suggest that grape seed may help reduce exercise-induced fatigue, possibly by improving mitochondrial function and energy metabolism.
Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone)
Coenzyme Q10, also known as the “universal antioxidant” is synthesized in the liver and its main function is to make human cells generate energy. It plays a critical role in the production of energy within the mitochondria. Coenzyme Q10 is present and used in each of our cells to produce energy and participates in the process of cellular respiration.
95% of cellular energy in the body is synthesized with the participation of Coenzyme Q10. It is an essential for the production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) – the body’s primary source of energy. Its key role in energy production makes it vital, both for human health and for athletes’ sporting performances and achievements.
Coenzyme Q10 is highly concentrated in the heart, where it contributes to the energy production needed for the heart’s constant pumping action. It is present in high concentrations in brain tissues and plays a crucial role in supporting healthy brain function.
Supplementation with Coenzyme Q10 improves stamina and performance during prolonged exercise, helps to reduce muscle fatigue during intense physical activity. Athletes engaged in intense training regimens have a significant demands on the health and condition of their cardiovascular system and muscles. Coenzyme Q10 support heart and muscle health in athletes, ensuring that they can perform optimally.
Standard Coenzyme Q10 is a lipophilic antioxidant, i.e. it is a fat-soluble substance with low bioavailability. Our capsules contain a special water-soluble Coenzyme Q10 CWS that has more than 90% absorption in the human body.
After 30-35 years of age concentration of Coenzyme Q10 in the cells noticeably decreases, and this also decreases the body’s supply of energy. It has been proven that the daily intake of Coenzyme Q10 restores cellular respiration and thus rejuvenates the body and extends the duration of an active life.
Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) – Pyrroloquinoline quinone disodium salt (MGCPQQ®)***
Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) is a natural unique nutrient that is essential for the growth and development of the human body. The benefits of PQQ derive primarily from the way it acts on cellular mitochondria, the energy centres of the cell. Mitochondria are parts of human cells that act as batteries and supply the body with energy. All the energy of the human body – movements, breathing and even brain functions originate from mitochondria. Mitochondrial health underlies human longevity. The most important property of PQQ is that it stimulates “mitochondrial biogenesis” – this is the process of creating new mitochondria.
PQQ is a potent antioxidant counteracting the damage caused by free radicals. As an antioxidant, PQQ protects mitochondria from oxidative stress, but what sets it apart from other antioxidants is that it also helps generate new mitochondria inside aging cells. In other words, it makes cells produce younger cells. As we age, our cells’ mitochondria wear out and they begin to age faster. PQQ also supports communication between individual cells.
By supporting mitochondrial health, PQQ may enhance the body’s ability to produce energy, potentially leading to improved performance in high-intensity or endurance-based sports.
Some research suggests that PQQ may support cardiovascular health by improving blood flow and reducing oxidative stress. This contributes to better overall athletic performance.
PQQ has a role in supporting metabolism by regulating factors like insulin sensitivity and glucose utilization.
PQQ has neuroprotective effects, protects brain cells, increases the ability to concentrate, improves memory and promotes cognitive function during physical activity.
