In St. Gallen, Servette’s women were unable to string together a sixth consecutive win, settling for a 0–0 draw against Rapperswil.
As favourites, the Garnets tried everything in vain to overcome a resilient Rapperswil side that held firm throughout the 90 minutes. The Geneva players certainly didn’t lack chances. They even thought they had made the perfect start in the 10th minute, but Serrano’s goal was ruled out for offside. Her teammates had no more luck before the break.
In the second half, the story was the same. The chances piled up, the minutes ticked away, but Cristian Toro’s players kept running into a solid St. Gallen defense and an opposing goalkeeper in top form. Marinelli, Serrano, Simonsson and company all tried their luck but couldn’t capitalize on the few opportunities they were given in the latter stages.
Servette dropped their first points of the season against Rapperswil but will remain top of the table after Matchday 6!
