In Zürich, Servette’s women cruised past Wädenswil with a 7–0 victory, advancing to the Round of 16 of the Swiss Cup.
The mission was clear: leave their opponents no hope. Press high, attack relentlessly, and take an early lead — just as they had done in the first round against Sissach. The Servette players executed the plan perfectly, immediately putting heavy pressure on the Wädenswil defense. The Zürich side held out for less than a quarter of an hour before Salomon opened the scoring, quickly followed by Tufo doubling the lead. After just 15 minutes, the match was nearly decided. From that point on, Cristian Toro’s side controlled the tempo with ease. Felber, Wallin (her first goal in Servette colours), and Salomon again made it 5–0 by halftime.
After the break — much like in the match against Sissach — the Garnets created plenty of chances but were slightly less clinical. Marinelli and Salomon, who celebrated her first hat-trick for the club, added the sixth and seventh goals of the match. The scoreline could easily have been even higher.
With focus and control throughout, Servette FCCF advance to the Round of 16 of the Swiss Cup!
Next up for the Garnets: a return trip to Zürich next Sunday for a top clash against Grasshopper at 3 p.m. at the GC Campus!
